College students flock to the University of Houston for their outstanding academics, research opportunities, unbeatable location, and food – yes, I said food. While the University of Houston’s academia nourishes their students’ minds, the on-campus food trucks nourish their bodies too. UH students enjoy the many delicious food truck options, but one food truck stands out from the crowd – Coreanos. This fusion food truck originated in Austin, serving up Korean tacos, burritos, hot dogs, quesadillas and fries in 2010. By 2011, Coreanos was rated one of the top 10 restaurants in Austin on Yelp. In 2012, Coreanos found their way to Houston by way of the food truck scene located on the UH campus, adding short ribs and Korean slaw to the menu.
Forbes named Houston as a great city for new college grads and Kiplinger named Houston as one of the best cities to live, work, and play. According to Trulia, Houston ranks 4th in median entry-level income, paired with a relatively low cost of living makes Houston easy on the wallet. Consequently, many University of Houston students make Houston their permanent home after graduation.
